Trek! 1400 French "foreign breeder" charter flights settled in China

Time: January 17, 2020 14:39:26 China Finance
In the morning of January 16th, with a windowless Boeing 777F cargo plane landing at Haikou Meilan Airport, there were two batches of 1,400 foreign breeding pigs who took a flight of more than ten hours and traveled from France to China not far away. All arrived safely. After quarantine at the airport, these French breeding pigs will cross the Qiongzhou Strait by boat and formally settle in to a breeding base in Zhanjiang, Guangdong.

According to the staff of the Southern Airlines Cargo Department that carried this batch of foreign breeding pigs, due to the risks involved in long-term transportation of live animals, they deliberately chose to arrange night flights, which were conducted by experienced captains. Affected by the internal space, the cargo plane has limited seats and cannot be equipped with flight attendants and breeding managers. During the ten-hour flight, the captains took care of their meals. These "pig passengers" could only eat after landing. In the cargo compartment, the "pig passengers" are arranged in a custom-made wooden cabin, which is fixed with a bandage outside and then covered with a net so that the pigs will not run out, and the wooden box is also covered with odors and feces. Considering that these pigs travel long distances and have higher temperature requirements, the air-conditioning gears in the cabin have also been adjusted to make them more comfortable.

It is understood that this batch of breeding pigs was imported by Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Group from France, including three varieties of Dabai, Changbai and Duroc. The reason why they were first flown to Haikou and then transferred to Zhanjiang was mainly to facilitate customs supervision at the nearest location. Guangzhou and other places to save transportation costs. Next, after the 45-day epidemic-free inspection period is over, the breeding pigs can go to breed the next generation.
